Kitchen Table Makeover

When the MR and I got married my parents gave me the Williamson family kids table.

As you can tell by the before picture my siblings and I loved that table to death.  Hopefully this facelift has given her a few more years to be loved by little ones.

Red Mirror Makeover

Last year while on one of my yard sale adventures I found this great round mirror for $10.  With a $4. can of red spray paint she now has a place in the Messinger home.

Gray Dresser Makeover

This past year I have been addicted to redoing furniture.  Something about buying something that has been loved to death and refinishing it makes me so happy.

On one of my yard sale adventures I found an old dresser that was hand made in Mexico.  It found its way to Alaska with a military family and for just $40 became a Messinger.  The MR couldn't believe I wasted $40 on a dresser but I couldn't wait to show him how beautiful it could be.

With a lot of sanding, primer, paint, and new hardware it is now my favorite piece in our home.

A lot of blood, sweat and tears went into this dresser.  After cutting myself trying to take the old hardware off (attached with thick wire) the MR jumped in to save the day.   Apparently the gentleman who originally made this beauty didn't have a tape measure so the hubby also had to get out his circular saw to make the top rectangular.

So what do you think of her?  I think she needs a name, do you have any ideas?

Jewelry Frame Makeover

This past weekend I decide to make something with a really old frame. This frame is special because it held Andrew's Grandpa's Air Force Basic Training picture for many years.  The only problem was that we wanted Andrew's basic picture to be in a matching frame as his grandpa's so off I went to buy new frames leaving this lovely old frame.
After a fresh coat of gray paint and some little hooks I now have a lovely place to hang my necklaces.

Family Birthdays Sign

After countless hours of "liking" and "pinning" pictures on Pinterest a group of my friends finally decided to put our $ where our mouth was and follow through with a Pinterest idea.
We spent all day Saturday shopping for supplies, sanding, painting, laughing, talking, and eating.

So what do you think of the finished project?
Who wants to have a baby in November???
Special thanks to Ashlie for finding the idea on Pinterest and making homemade chicken noodle soup for us to enjoy and Sam for helping me paint what felt like a million circles and drilling all of the holes because I was scared I would mess it up.
